Hell F***ing YEAH!

Let's start with the mechanics to improve: Sometimes, it's not clear enough with what you're interacting with. It happens to me the most in the mixing vet that I'm not sure if I'm standing close enough to throw my color in, sometimes I just press Enter, and nothing happens. Then, when I want to pick the color, it doesn't auto-equip, which is good because you can mix more than 2 colors, but it doesn't telegraph well enough that the color was mixed in and ready to absorb another color or be picked up. Also, when I go right to pick colors, I sometimes pick the wrong color because the "head" of my character was closer to the upper vet than the one that the body is closer to. This can be easily solved (or at least be better) by more juice - move visual movement (rotation, scaling, color change) for the interactible object that will be interacted with + sound effect, especially SFX for the vets on the right to help train the player they're in the right place they meant to be. I'd add SFX first thing. Maybe even a small arrow around the "head" of the character to indicate where it's looking at and what it's about to interact with (I'd keep it optionally to the player to toggle on/off in case it's too much).

What's to keep: the new blind-color pallets - now I can see the colors clearly - THANK YOU! From this point forward, all my failures are just skill issues *giant sweat drop emoji*. I think the game is also running a bit smoother now, but it just might be my PC after a fresh restart. Letting to choose the color pallets is a giant boon as well. Well done!

I also like that not every chest has purchasable options. It's a good motivator, and it shows what I may buy/unlock later.

One thing I would consider to add/change (maybe it has a power-up, I wouldn't know, skill issues...) is the ability to just drop the eraser. It would make things easier and faster and it could double as an obstacle if not returned to place (it could even absorb colors around it, making it less useful as it erases worse that way). Not being able to pick up and return the eraser like I want (see first paragraph) is very frustrating since it's a core mechanic.

TL;DR in the last build I can finally say that

Thank you so much for the deep feedback! and i am happy you enjoyed the game!
i have a few note to make sure i undestood your feedback correctly:

  • When you approch what you can interact with there is actually a small highlight showing what you are going to interact with, it might be to unoticeable(it just makes the item you are about to interact with a bit brighter), so the feedback can be broken into two?:
    • Make it clear if i am close enough to drop something somewhere(keep the highlight for other items while holding something)
    • Make the highlight more clear(maybe a small glow/gloss animation
  • And interesting on the dropping the eraser thing! i might add it as an ability to allow the player to be able to drop what they are holding wherever they want and handle the consequeneses of it, it sounds like a cool ability!

The highlight is not noticable enough. It needs a bit more juice and/or contrast in the colors.
